How To Use Frizzle, Graza’s New High-Heat Cooking Oil

Food & Drink

A cult-status olive oil known for having two distinct versions (for sizzling and drizzling) has added a third product category.

Graza, known for its signature green squeeze bottles of olive oils designed to cook with or garnish with, now has a trio of products, with the introduction of Frizzle, dubbed the “high heat kitchen hero.”

Designed for baking, grilling and frying, Frizzle is a single-origin, high-heat cooking olive oil. Made from 100% olives (that is, this isn’t a blended oil), Frizzle has a smoke point of up to 490°F and is designed for neutral-flavor cooking. It’s an alternative to the much-maligned seed oils, canola oil, and other cooking oils common in American pantries.

“Frizzle is a game-changer for Graza, opening the door for us to reach even more home cooks across the country,”Andrew Benin, Graza CEO and Co-Founder, shared in a statement. “We’re unlocking even more ways to cook with our high-quality oil — empowering our customers to crisp, fry, and grill with the same confidence they’ve come to expect from Graza. We have been working on this product since before our January 2022 launch, and we are thrilled to finally introduce it to the world.”

Frizzle’s New Packaging

Just like its siblings, Frizzle is available in a squeeze bottle, to easily disperse into a hot pan or cast iron while cooking on the stove or to dress veggies before roasting. In addition to the 750 mL bottle, Frizzle will be sold in a 5 oz spray bottle (ideal for grilling), as well as a 2L jug (easy to pour in a measuring cup, fill a deep fryer, or refill a squeeze bottle with).

Frizzle is a natural progression in Graza’s lineup, which is picked, pressed and bottled in Jaen, Spain. The oil itself is made from a mixture of single origin Picual olive pomace oil, that is, olive oil made from derived from the crushed olive remnants of the first cold press of Sizzle and Drizzle. Once these olives are re-presssed, they become Frizzle, no chemicals, solents, or additives necessary.

“Frizzle brings an exciting story to our shelves, using leftover pomace from EVOO production to extract the remaining olive oil. It also fills a unique gap in our assortment with an olive oil specifically designed for very high-heat cooking — perfect for stir-frying, deep-frying, or making homemade fries,” Brooke Gil, Principal Category Merchant at Whole Foods Market said. “We’re excited to offer a product like this that delivers on performance, and it is sure to please our customers.”

Frizzle is now on shelves at Whole Foods and sold in Graza’s online shop. A $53 trio set features all three squeeze bottles of Sizzle, Drizzle, and Frizzle.

Inspired by the squeeze bottles beloved by professional chefs in restaurant kitchen, Graza isn’t the only olive oil sold in the catchy and convenient packaging. Chefs Life offers various cooking and finishing oils in opaque black and white squeeze bottles. Chosen Foods also offers its 100% avocado oil in a convenient squeeze bottle. DeLallo Castelvetrano Extra Virgin Olive Oil comes in a green squeeze bottle, not dissimilar from Graza, and artisinal oil and vinegar company Brightland has been known to sell out its seasoned and squeezable Pizza Oil.
